Don Knock is widely known for his versatile approach when producing tracks. This time, however, Knock hones this very technique into his rapping and singing skill on "Be Right Here." On his latest record, the IV beatsmith expresses his devotion towards a woman whos got him weak by the knees. My little sister, Nyla Gilbert adds, "It has a good tempo, and the harmony is on point. Knock put his heart into this!" During his rap sesh, Knock reflects on how things were, then gets into how the sun is shining brighter these days. Next, he unveils that this is the first time he's been in love. Knock raps: "Grown man shit, suiting up. Love so dope, I'm shooting up./I'm new to us, only use to lust. Never use to trust" In turn, his significant other has nothing to worry about.
As the song's title suggests, Knock will always be right there for her. There's "no other place he'd rather be than with her making memories." Ultimately, "Be Right There" serves as a serenade. Towards its beginning and end, "Be Right There" gives off an atmospheric feel. The island-like production, also done by Knock, carries a dark guitar riff, piano riff, snares, and hi-hats. Every so often, a steel pan drum seeps in as well. When singing, he uses a honeyed register and calming back vocals.
"This song means a lot to me because it sparks new beginnings," Knock says, "I've been producing for a few years now, but this is my first step into adding 'artist' to my repertoire. It's also the first song that I've ever written and recorded for myself. That alone puts this song at a special place in my heart. The story behind the song is that music has a way of triggering the past or inspiring the future. 'Be Right There' means so much because it uniquely does both."
